Weave

Starting weave was interesting and challenging compared to the fast pass of knit, weave seems more time consuming, how I really like the outcome. Here I have started off with a plain weave.

Creative Data Knits

After learning most of the techniques and samples i moved my work forward and focusing more on my own theme to explore making and designing creative samples.

Here I have used Punch cards in my colour scheme which I feel worked well. I have also used the hooking up technics to create this interesting designed biased on Circuit boards. I could move this forward by incorporating lace holes and ladders.

Data

I started my project by brainstorming what is date? From information to time, movement, stories, heritage, technology, recording, connections and perspective. From this  found it helpful to narrow down and find what area i am passionate about. Therefore i went on to look at interlinking technology, like circuit boards and engines. However also found from looking at circuit boards the similarity to maps. This made me go on to look at different artists and designers work and different interlinking knit and weave techniques. I am inspired to include movement in to my designers and will go on to design some creative patterns and to start my technical samples.
